Surrounded by a community which has undergone a radical change in demographics, this once booming church congregation has desired to reach out to and attract younger generations. The architectural challenge was to reconfigure the sanctuary so as to accommodate new worship venues and functions while restoring the historic features of the sanctuary which was built in the early 1930’s. Moen Architecture researched the original architecture which was compromised through the years. The design restores and enhances the original architectural character. New lighting is incorporated into the design along with a new flexible chancel area and new storage areas for instruments and furniture. New audio-visual elements were carefully added without intruding on the traditional architecture.
