This renovation project of Irvine Baptist Church in California involved a complete interior renovation of the sanctuary, foyer and balcony of a substandard and outdated Worship Center along with ADA upgrades. The intent was to accommodate and attract new, younger worshipers to the growing Korean congregation. The chancel/stage area was enlarged and remodelled to provide more flexibility for musicians, drama and speaking venues. The sanctuary pews were removed and replaced with new flexible seating, and the balcony was rebuilt so as to improve site-lines and incorporate a new recessed sound control booth. A new house lighting system, stage lighting and audio-visual and technology were installed to accommodate new high-tech. worship venues. All of the interior surfaces were replaced and refinished in order to provide a new, fresh look. With the careful selection of new translucent window shading devices, the existing stained glass windows are now exposed to view while allowing shade control sufficient for stage lighting and projection. The existing Worship Center entry lobby was also renovated with rich interior finishes including granite floors and maple wood accents
