Once these parameters have been defined, we work with our clients to develop a planning schedule which defines the process required to obtain the entitlements necessary to move forward with the project. We seek to identify critical issues early on, which will shape the project. That way, our clients avoid wasting valuable resources and time pursuing design solutions which in the end must be abandoned. We many times advise our clients to abandon a site or a particular use when our experience and analysis determines that the project will not make economic or practical sense.

In existing buildings, we use this phase to “test” the space, producing quick computer-generated drawings to visualize how each space can be utilized. In new construction, this space planning will influence the size and configuration of the building. This planning process is an interactive one where we work closely with the users and even furniture suppliers to plan the flexibility and adaptability that will allow organizations to evolve over time.
